United By Sound

In the fall of 2023, Chicago Symphony Orchestra approached our team to create an evolution of their 2022 campaign art direction and architecture. The client wanted an evolution rather than a revolution and challenged the team to use the same 2022 elements but with a new spin.

Moving forward, the team curated a concept and art direction that was a metaphor for the orchestra itself. An approach that used interconnected, overlapping and deconstructed shapes pulled from the 2022 campaign as a means of representing each musician working individually towards a greater whole. A form of deconstruction as a means of reconstruction to show how through the power of sound we’re all interconnected.

Breaking It Down

Deconstructed Shapes

Deconstructed shapes represented the idea of interconnectedness of the orchestra. A nod to each individual musician being part of the greater whole.

Flexible & Modular

Creative would be executed both internally and externally. That meant the direction needed to
be strong but also flexible enough to work across animation, OOH and social.

Vibrant

CSO typically launches campaigns with their red and white front and center. We wanted to bring their music to life by adding in their vibrant secondary colors to main stage.
